The numerous b&w drawings and engravings are by a variety of artists, including George Cruikshank and Gustave Doré. A compendium of fables, fairy tales, ballads, and poetry from the fables of Aesop to the fairy tales of Perrault, from the stories of the Arabian Nights to the travels of Gulliver. Copiously illustrated, including numerous plates by Cruikshank, the true highlight of this edition is the color plate created by Maxfield Parrish for the cover.
