J M Dent & Sons Ltd., 1911. 1st Edition. Hardcover. VG. FOLKARD, Charles. 1st Edition. 16 x 23.5 cm pictorial cloth with gilt stamped titles to the front and spine and publisher's device to the rear. Top edge gilt, other edges green, pictorial endpapers, viii, 472pp with 21 full page colour illustrations including tissue-guarded frontispiece together with black and white headers and footers. There is a small 1cm split in the cloth on the front joint and a little rubbing and pushing to the corners and spine tips. There is also some rubbing to the images and decoration on the front and spine and a little cockling to the bottom edge of the front and rear board. Internally, there is a gift inscription in pencil dated 1912 on the recto of the frontispiece. All illustrations are present and in excellent condition. There are only occasional light marks, one poorly opened page and occasional pushing to the bottom corners of some pages. An unusual 1st Edition of this charmingly illustrated collection of Shakespeare's tales.
