A previous owner's embossed seal is on the bottom of the front free endpaper, else no marks or writing in the book. The jacket has a light amount of edge wear and a small tear at the bottom of the fornt panel. 317 pages with notes, index and illustrations (maps). The jacket write-up claims this is the first book to focus on China's efforts to develop offshore petroleum know-how and the political consequences of their ambitions. Written under the auspices of the Carneigie Endowment's International Fact-Finding Center, interviews were conducted with over 300 oilmen and experts throughout the world..
