Handsome leather bound hardcover: clean, totally unmarked, firmly bound and complete with all plates and inserts. Profusely illustrated with black and white photographs of Buddhist monasteries and monks, sculpture, clothing, ceremonial artifacts and more. There are many architectural plans and drawings, one full color plate, two color drawings, four 2-color ordination certificates, a 2-color map and two tissue-guarded fold-out diagrams. Additionally, four large folding plans printed on heavy paper are inserted into a pocket affixed to the inside rear cover. The book includes Tables of Plates and Sketches, Index and Chronology. Richly bound in dark blue morocco leather boards with tan morocco leather spine. Calligraphic gilt stamping on front cover, title gilt stamped on spine. Pages clean and supple; very slight foxing to outer edges, otherwise fine. Cover is fresh and unworn. Binding and hinges firm, intact and straight.
