Paris: Olivier de Varennes, 1610. Hardcover. Very Good+. Early vellum over boards, gilt-stamped lettering in orange leather spine label; 8vo (152 x 225 mm); pp. [4] (title-page, blank, sommaire des principaux), 664, [28], with numerous woodcut illustrations (showing surgical instruments and operations, and anatomical details). Library records indicate that it's missing 16 preliminary pages, but it's textually complete, with all engravings. Title-page printed in red and black, with woodcut vignette. Boards a little soiled, and flaring somewhat. First 2 leaves (title-p., sommaire) lightly chipped along the edges and just a little soiled, with faint contemporary notations. The rest of the text block is remarkably bright and clean. An excellent copy. This posthumous second edition is a slightly larger format than previous editions.
