About This Item
New York: E. P. Dutton & Co, 1929. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Good. Milne's own selection of his greatest hits, excerpted from the four Pooh books, When We Were Very Young, Now We Are Six, Winnie-the-Pooh, and The House at Pooh Corner, with the original illustrations by E. H. Shepard and a new introduction by Milne. This is one of 350 large paper copies printed on a smooth, Japanese vellum-like paper, numbered and signed by Milne and Shepard.
xvi, 171, [1] pages. First edition (first printing). An exceptional copy, truly fine in the original paper-covered boards. Many of the leaves are unopened along the fore-edge. The front flap of the original unprinted acetate dust jacket has separated completely and the rear flap is missing, but most copies have no jackets at all. The book is housed in the original printed box, which has been repaired along one edge, but is generally about very good.
