Philadelphia, PA: Frederick Leypoldt, 1864 True first printing dated 1864 on the title page. 78 pages. A very early New England and NY travel with Indian Guides (Abanaki & Algonquin) which ends with the group looking upon the 'Old Man of the Mountains' in what is now Franconia Notch, New Hampshire. Interesting and quite prosiac. Spine ends worn, both hinges cracked. Very uncommon and scarce in this first printed edition. No other copies for sale on the net at this time other than the 2 we have at present for sale. Bent's (p 70) lists another example published in 1892 but no copies listed for reference in 1864. Only 1 physical copy on Worldcat listed, housed in the Rauner Special Collections Library in Dartmouth College. I believe it is the largest WM collection in the world.
