Housed in the publisher's red cloth slipcase, author's title in gilt on front panel. One of 350 numbered copies and fifty deluxe copies, this being number 231. Signed by the author on the limitation page. This is the final book in the Border Trilogy, preceded by All The Pretty Horses (1992) and The Crossing (1994). In addition to this trilogy, Cormac McCarthy's literary achievements include the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel "The Road," a haunting exploration of post-apocalyptic survival, and "Blood Meridian," a violent and poetic masterpiece set in the 19th-century American West. McCarthy's works often delve into the human condition, weaving themes of morality, existentialism, and the harsh realities of life with a unique and unparalleled narrative skill.

Synopsis

Cities of the Plain is the final volume of American novelist Cormac McCarthy's The Border Trilogy . The title is a reference to Sodom and Gomorrah. The novel b rings together John Grady Cole from All the Pretty Horses and Billy Parnham from The Crossing . Cities of the Plain focuses on Parnham's doomed relationship with a young Mexican prostitute.
