Book - Very Good- condition. Coated navy cloth over boards with gold gilt text on spine. Previous owner's calling card glued to back of front cover. There is also a seal impression on the half title page. Photos and images are black and white. Clean and tight.
Dust Jacket - Very Good condition. There is about a half inch closed tear on front cover and a "wrinkle" at the top of the back and a tiny closed tear at the bottom. Otherwise nice.
343 pages including Index.
Synopsis
This book is a fast-moving, dramatic narrative. Catton, a leading historian of the Civil War, vividly describes the armies involved and battles fought. His account of battles is carefully interwoven with the political activities of the Union and Confederate armies and diplomatic efforts overseas.
