A splendid collection of French medieval romances in a decorated edition using ornaments and designs from the illuminated manuscript tradition. Small quarto, original gilt-decorated cloth with pictorial onlay, decorated title page, full-page colour plates and numerous smaller mounted colour plates throughout, generously decorated using Medieval ornament, previous owner's neat inscription on illustrated free endpaper, occasional foxing throughout, a near fine copy.
