About This Item

London : London Museum Press, 1956. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First edition first printing 1956. Hardback book is tight clean and square. Boards sharp and clean, title gilt perfect. Text block clean and off white, with a few feint spots. The pages are crisp and unblemished. Feels lightly read. Contemporary previous owners gift inscription to FEP. Sharp spine ends, very good condition. Jacket grades good, with a couple of closed tears to the front panel, small losses to joint ends, a tear and creasing to head of rear panel. There is are a rub or sticker pull to the joint of the front panel by the title. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a worthy addition to your collection. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. A solid example of this title by Evans both a technical manual and also full of his reminisces of climbing in Britain, the Alps and the Himalayas. Whilst the jacket is a touch untidy it is still a nice book in the hand and in the archival fitted cover would make a suitable addition to a mountaineering collection. Has sections of B&W plates, maps and diagrams.
