Brought up in the maritime traditions of north-east Essex with a family background of fishing, professional yachting and shipbuilding, John Leather is by profession a naval architect and has been involved with the design and construction of ships of all sizes and many types throughout his career. He is a Fellow of The Royal Institution of Naval Architects and a chartered engineer.
