Greenfield, MA: Ross & Co, 1866. 14 x 23 cm. Circular describes the new 1866 model mowing-machine, much improved and simplified since last season. Iron has been substituted for wood to avoid bulk and secure durability. Note the drive-wheels, which have ten wrought-iron spokes (Drawing provided, shows last year's pattern), ratchets, cast inside of the hub, to exclude dust and dirt. Note also the Knife-bar head and connecting rod pin. Price for a one-horse or Pony Clipper Mower, 3 1/2 ft. cut, 30 in. wheel is $120. Also included is a one-page set of directions for setting up the ""Clipper"" of 1866. Paper leaflet, 4 pp. show picture of mower, slight tears in folds, fair; one-page Directions are worn with several tiny holes in sheet, fair. . Catalogs: Farming.
