About This Item

N.p.: N.p., 1966. Collection of 17 vintage borderless reference photographs from the 1966 Czechoslovakian film. With the printed label of Columbus Film in Zurich affixed to the verso.

Based on Bohumil Hrabal's 1965 novel, about a young man working at a German-occupied train station in Czechoslovakia during World War II. A key entry in Czechoslovak New Wave film, poignantly asserting that the Czech people were part of an oppressive system during the war, hitting the mark with sly wit and a peculiar innocence.

Set and shot on location in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic.

9.5 x 7 inches. Near Fine.
