First edition, first impression, inscribed by the author in the publication year on the title page, "David Mitchell, Brighton '04", with an "X" with swirled ends crossing out his printed name. Incorporating both historical fiction and sci-fi elements, the time-hopping novel was shortlisted for the 2004 Booker Prize and was adapted into the 2012 film, starring Halle Berry and Tom Hanks. This copy is in the hardback issue. Octavo. Original red boards, spine lettered in metallic blue, blue illustrated endpapers. With dust jacket, with Guardian Preview of the Year wraparound band. A fine copy in like dust jacket.
Synopsis
Cloud Atlas is a 2004 novel, the third book by British author David Mitchell. It won the British Book Awards Literary Fiction Award and the Richard & Judy Book of the Year award, and was short-listed for the 2004 Booker Prize, Nebula Award, Arthur C. Clarke Award, and other awards, placing it among the most-honored works of fiction in recent history.
