The French police make their assessment, the coroner his inquest, a confession is found but contradicted. Mr. Pointer, a detective of Scotland Yard, discreetly observes. A. Fielding was a pseudonym of the British author Dorothy Feilding (b. 1884). Little is known about this author, though about two dozen of her mysteries were published between 1924 and 1937. She was reported to have been a resident in the Kensington district of London.
