About This Item

Chapel Hill, North Carolina, U.S.A.: Algonquin Books, 1994. Hard Cover. Fine/fine. Fine in fine dust jacket. Cloth, 436 pps. with index, bibliography. Illustrated. Biography of one of baseball's greatest, and most controversial, players--Ty Cobb. Author Al Stump worked with Cobb in the early 1960s on the player's autobiography and saw and heard much which he could not at the time disclose. Here the gloves come off and Cobb is portrayed in the harsh but fair light that such a complex figure deserves.
