About This Item
Synopsis
ERIC COHLER established his own firm in 1991. Since then, House Beautiful has described Cohler as one of the 14 "best of the best" in the "next wave of designers in America," and in June 2010, he was named to Elle Decor 's A-List of 30 top U.S. designers working today. He is featured regularly in Veranda , Traditional Home , New York Spaces , and also writes regularly for American Art Collector . Cohler holds an MA in Historic Preservation from Columbia University’s School of Architecture and a Certificate from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. In late 2010, he was named an Ambassador of Creativity and Spirituality to the G20 summit in Seoul, South Korea. In recent years, Cohler has expanded to include product design, such as furniture, rugs, lighting, and fabric—in fact, his Lee Jofa “Tyler Crewel” fabric was selected by the President and Mrs. Obama for the White House family dining room.
