An honest autobiography of his life as a homeless boy in the Great Depression, including life in jungle camps, time in bordellos, relief camps and depending on soup kitchens, The second part of his life as a soldier how he signed up in the Army though under age, and was sent to the Philippines which was a very violence and brutal society in the late 1930's, He speaks in very frank language about many issues which were useful when he began writing his fiction. Bound in stiff pictorial paper wraps depicting a photographic image of the author, maroon raised lettering. Near fine.
