Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Some foxing to head of text block, fore edge and tail unaffected. Some minor sun-fading to spine of dust jacket. Not price-clipped. No marks or inscriptions. Binding is perfectly tight and free of leaning. A beautiful copy.
Fallon was a pillar of Irish literary life for most of the 20th century, writing poems, essays, short stories, television and radio dramas but he had a somewhat eccentric dislike of book publishing. This meant that, although frequently appearing in journals, his poetry was not available in bound form until months before his death in 1974. Published 16 years later, this is the first comprehensive collection of his work in verse. Edited by his son and introduced with a characteristically insightful and moving essay by Seamus Heaney. Essential reading for all who appreciate Irish Poetry.
