About This Item
London: Faber & Faber, 1950. First edition, first printing. Published by Faber & Faber in London, 1950. This is a very good (or better) copy. The dust wrapper, bright but with some slight staining and closed tears, also has some mild wear to the top and bottom edges. It has not been price clipped and shows the original 15s net price. The boards are free from notable chips and marks and the text blocks are free from foxing. This copy is free from previous owners ink and is, overall, in very good (or better) condition. The importance of the first collected volume of this author's poems needs no emphasis from the publishers. Mr. Auden has himself made the choice and the arrangement of his poems: with a few omissions of poems by which he does not wish to be judged, here is his complete work of fifteen years.
