Paper covered books with illustrated paper title on front board. A gentle and haunting look at the Big Island of Hawaii with minimal text by the artist. Barbara Milman: "In May of 2007 I was an artist-in-residence at the Red Cinder Creativity Center on the Big Island of Hawaii, where I took all the photographs in this book.

Unmarked except for early previous owner's inscription (see photo). Virually no foxing at all. First tissue guard is torn at bottom but others are intact. Biographical and historical narratives with many full-page engravings. 9" x 11". Some scuffing to leather and light wear to extremities, and light chipping to top of spine of volume 2. A very good plus copy of this beautifully produced work.

Nous pouvons assurer avec certitude que cette photographie est de Folon (qui n'a apposé son cachet qu'à de très rares tirages) puisque nous en avons vu le négatif et la planche contact. Tenants of building (as per signs) include: Union Bank of Australia, Alex Brown Colliery, Belgian & US Consulate, New Lambton Colliery Indemnity Fire and Machinery Insurance, Hewison Shipping Insurance & General Commission Agent. According to Newcastle Library records these businesses were located in a bank building in Newcastle, but pictorial records depict a different building. It would seem highly coincidental if these same businesses were located at the same time in nearby East Maitland or Morpeth, but remains a possibility. No other pictorial records can be located..
