see notes for publisher info, 1971. Hardcover . VeryGood. Higashiyama Kaii Daihyo Gashu. Published in Tokyo by Shueisha Co. Introduction by Yasunari Kawabata. #103 of 2000 copies. Massive tome in clamshell box. Tipped in reproductions of the celebrated Japanese artist's works. Frontis is a wood-cut print "Early Spring" (1971). Includes the Mainichi Award-winning "Morntide" painted for the Imperial Palace wave room, 1968; "Myriad Green In Perpetual Self-Renewal" a mural for the Fukiage-Gosho Palace; Japan Art Academy award-winning "Twilight" (1955); 94 plates in all. Captions by artist. Book itself is nearly fine with minor wear to white leather spine. Box has minor fading and soil, and is very good overall.
