[London]: [William Bowden], [1864-66] 18 separately issued catalogues (numbers 158, 159, 161, 162 (parts 1 and 2), 163, 164, 165, 166, 167, 168 (parts 1 and 2), 169, 170, 171, 172, 173, and 174). Bound together in contemporary blind-tooled half-calf, marbled boards, recently rebacked preserving contemporary red morocco lettering-piece. Boards rubbed. Scattered spotting. Armorial bookplate to front pastedown of Scottish advocate and antiquary Alexander Thomson of Banchory (1798-1868). A near unbroken run of catalogues issued by London based booksellers Reeves and Turner between October 1864 and August 1866. The partnership between William Dobson Reeves (1825-1907) and Osborne Turner (1825-1887) was established in 1851. From inception the firm embraced publishing as well as bookselling, focusing primarily on reprints of early texts, though later encompassing modern works, including, notably, some of the books of William Morris. . 8vo.
