Binding is 1/4 leather over marbled boards, chipped at top and bottom spine ends to 3/8", front outer hinge cracking. Rear hinge is nearlt detached. Green spine label with gold gilt lettering. Binding worn and rubbed at edges. Binding is not the orginal but circa 1850's, it carries the date 1700 at the bottom spine end in gold gilt numerals. Endpapers are plain paper, browning obviously not the same quality as the rest. Illustrated By Engraved Plates (5) + Map.. Hard Cover. Good.
