London: Chapman & Hall, 1903. Book. Fair. Cloth. Signed by Author(s). 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Olive green cloth with titles in gilt on spine and in dark green on cover. Condition: Fair, covers have light shelfwear and bumping to spine and cover corners. Binding cracked internally in a couple of places, otherwise sound. Inscription on title page from the author to Mr John Vinycomb (1833-1928), the Newcastle born artistic director of Marcus Ward in Belfast and an international expert in heraldry. 140pp. Sixteen chromolithographic plates, with tissue guards. Light soiling to the base of plate 6. Letter also included with book from the authors brother, Richard Ward, written from the offices of the New Zealand Herald, to Mr Vinycomb. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
