Binding faintly edgeworn; jacket quite edgeworn and rather age toned, with large chips at head and tail of spine and flap creases archivally strengthened on verso -- thus overall complete and fairly attractive. A tight, attractive first edition of this biography subtitled on front jacket panel "The Amenities of Sin de Luxe." Tipped to the dedication page is a 2½" X 2½" "Time" magazine clipping dated 18 January 1960 -- obituary for Ada Everleigh, age 93. Uncommon.

Vincent Starrett's bookplate on front pastedown. Light chipping at head of jacket spine; two white speckles along title. Small divot in top edge of rear panel; front panel chipped along bottom corner. Further damage should be prevented by acetate cover. Expected age-toning to text block; copyright and contents page toned, presumably from slips of paper which had been laid-in. Else fine. A handsome copy. Very Good.
