About This Item

New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1971. Hardcover. Small 8vo. Color pictorial cloth. 216pp. Fine. Superb, tight copy of this reissue of the 1969 "In the Pocket: My Life as a Quarterback," here with choice autograph addition: Tipped to front flyleaf is a fine, heavy stock 5" X 3" card signed boldly in black ballpoint by Morrall, who dates it 15 December 1971 at upper right. Morrall (1934-2014) quaterbacked for five teams between 1956 and 1976, but is mainly remembered for his years with the Baltimore Orioles (1968-71) and Miami Dolphins (1972-76), both of whom he led to Super Bowl victories. Laid in is the perfect bookmark: Morrall's original transmittal envelope. Most unusual copy.
