Two tears on folding table, ending at border. Crisp and clean; overall in very good condition. 158 pp., (1 l. errata), 1 folding table. *** FIRST EDITION. Paz, a Franciscan who taught Hebrew at the Seminary in Beja, learned the language from the Maronite D. Paulo Hoder. A second edition of the Compendio, not substantially different from the first, appeared at Coimbra, 1826. *** Innocêncio III, 30: without mention of the errata leaf. Amzalak, Portuguese Hebrew Grammars & Grammarians pp. 22-3 and plate XIII. Imprensa Nacional pp. 84 & 279. Not in Palha. Porbase locates two copies, both in the Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal.
