Karsten Paerregaard is professor emeritus of Anthropology at the School of Global Studies, University of Gothenburg. His work is focused on migration and climate change and his regional expertise is in Peru and Latin America. the social and cultural impact of water shortage in the Peruvian Andes and with climate change and its repercussions for Andean culture and religion. Karsten's current research deals with climate-driven migration in the Himalaya, the Andes and the Ethiopian highlands.
