About This Item
Bloomfield, NJ: Schering Co.,. Very Good in Very Good dust jacket. 1956. Hardcover. No author given. Uncommon with the original glassine dust jacket, even with the toned edges, small chips and 1" tear along the fold edge. Pp 152. Disease Index. Full page color illustrations and photographs. In 1952 Schering's U.S. subsidiary is sold to private investors, permanently separating the business from its German parent. The first commercially feasible synthesis of prednisone was carried out in 1955 in the laboratories of Schering Corporation, which later became Schering-Plough Corporation, by Arthur Nobile and coworkers. Prednisone and prednisolone were introduced in 1955 by Schering and Upjohn, under the brand names Meticorten and Delta-Cortef, respectively. (Wikipedia); 8vo .
