Very good condition with a little wear to the ends of the spine, some rubbing to the cloth cover and a little dampstaining at the lower gutter affecting mostly the frontispiece,title page and prelims.. First thus. A collection of mostly narrative and rather romantic longer poems, but with some lovely nature imagery. An appealing small volume, measuring only 6 5/8 by 4 1/2 inches, bound in forest green cloth with gilt lettering on spine and front cover, top edge gilt, frontispiece and small illustrations for the first capital letter of each poem. 332 pages. Although the copyright date indicates 1870, there is a gift inscription dated Christmas of 1869.
