New York, Chicago: E. R. Dumont, Publisher. [c.1890-1910]. Half Leather. An attractive, undated 30-volume illustrated set providing the entirety of the major works of Charles Dickens. All of his classics, from "Sketches by Boz" through "Edwin Drood" are here. Each volume with photogravure (color added) frontis illustrations, with captioned tissue-guards. Also with about 12 to 16 black & white plates per volume bearing illustrations by the original Dickens illustrators such as Hablot K. Browne ("Phiz") and Robert Seymour. Stated number 740 of a limited edition of 1000 sets. --- In half leather and red/gold marbled paper-covered boards with matching marbled endpapers. Spines with titling and decorations in gilt, with five raised bands on each, TEG (top edges gilt). No dates appear in books, but possibly published c.1890-1910. --- A well-preserved set, with vivid color to marbled papers and stable leather & hinges, though with moderate chafing to spine ends & cover edges on some volumes.
