The Nonesuch Press, London, 1926. First edition, complete in three volumes and limited to 1,250 copies. 4to. Quarter buckram with plain paper sides and a paper spine label to each volume. Boards very lightly dust marked and soiled. Some browning to the front endpaper of the first volume where a selection of newspaper clippings has been stored, and a double cease to the rear endpaper. Former owner armorial bookplates to the front pastedown of each volume, with some offsetting to the adjacent leaf. A very good set. Includes a Chronology of Otway's Plays, plus his complete oeuvre: Alcibiads, a Trageedy; Don Carlos, a Tragedy; Titus and Berenice, a Tragedy; The Cheats of Scapin; Friendship in Fashion; The History and Fall of Caius Marius; The Orphan; The Souldiers Fortune; Venice Preserv'd; The Atheist; plus all of his poems and the six surviving love letters he wrote to actress Elizabeth Barry, who toyed with and finally rejected him.. 1st Edition.
