Volume 1 of a 10-volume set, containing a life of Shakespeare by Israel Gollancz, The Tempest, Two Gentlemen of Verona, and The Comedy of Errors. Burgundy cloth with blind stamping on front and gilt on front and spine. Decorative endpapers with yellow-and-black shield. Red-and-black title page and red scene indicators throughout. All four B&W illustrated plates are intact, as is their tipped-in protective tissue. Text block has gilt top.
Former owner inscription on FFEP dated 1907.
Cover has wear and stains, with fraying on corners and spine. Text block is slightly loose from binding. Pages are age tanned.
