Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1940. Second edition. Hardcover. near Very Good. First printing of the second edition. 8vo. Pp xlvii + 524. Blue cloth boards stamped in gilt on the spine. A clean, unmarked and tightly bound copy without dust jacket. The book is an ex-library copy which has been professionnally re-endpapered. The only indication that it is ex-library are the faded remains of iibrary shelf marks in white ink on the spine. The cloth shows some damp staining and the top corner of the upper board is lightly bumped.
