Note: This concordance is presented in romanized (transliterated) characters arranged alphabetically. It is based mainly on the translation of A. J. Arberry's "The Koran." Oxford: 1964. For alternative definitions it also consults the following: R. Bell's "The Qur'an." Edinburgh: 1937; M. M. Pickthall's "The Meaning of the Glorious Koran." NY: 1956; and Abdullah Yusuf Ali's "The Holy Qur'an." Lahore: 1934.

"For centuries, the Qur'an has been a closed book both to non-Muslims and, to some extent, even to Muslims who do not know Arabic... [This book] aims to open the Qur'an to serious English-speaking students..." (Publisher).
