Two outstanding naturalists share their enthusiasm and discoveriesabout 2 historic rivers of thoreau country- the Sudbury and the Assabet, which rise in adjoining swamps southwest of Concord, Massachusetts, set off in opposite directions, and come together to form the Concord river. Over a period of several years canoed and walked beside the rivers in all seasons, noting, photographing, and sketching the flora and fauna, and sharing their thoughts and concerns. They pored over thoreau's journals and the writings of other explorers and observers, and put it all together in a profile of the region. Illustrated.; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall .
