London, Studio Editions, 1988. Good+. Hardcover. Original dark blue boards, hardback, gitl lettering to spine, a trace of wear but generally very good and clean, coloured pictorial dust jacket, not clipped, small tear to the top edge of the rear of the dust jacket, no inscriptions or marks, upon opening the book the front endpapers are clean but just at the bottom of the front pastedown there is a very tiny triange of white paper that is missing near the hinge, this does not interfere with the binding, fully illustrated in colour and black & white, pages 1-42 introduction and biography laid out in two columns, after this there are the Plates in colour and black & white, showing a full page illustration with description adjacent to it, 143 pages. Size 12.00 x 11.25 inches approx. John Constable was a contemporary of J M W Turner, an incredible period for in the history of English Painting. A heavy book. .
