London: Robert Hardwicke, 1874. First edition. 12mo, [6], 160 pp, frontis, 4 chromolithograph plates, additional illustrations in text. Publisher's green cloth lettered & decorated in gilt & blind. All edges gilt.
Binding moderately rubbed & soiled, couple of ripples in the cloth, corners bruised, previous owner's name in pencil at ffep, text lightly toned, otherwise Very Good.
Author Frederick William Burbidge was curator of the botanical gardens at Trinity College, Dublin This treatise, enhanced by several illustrations including 4 color plates, contains practical information on greenhouses, watering systems, etc.
