First edition, first printing. In fairly good half red leather and mottled red leather, with gilt edging on corners, gilt titles and gilt horizontal bands to spine; tightly bound covers, grubby, tears on leather on spine and spine area. Slightly tanned and foxed end papers. Red mottled, tanned cut edges. Very good, tight text block and except for prelims and end pages not tanned or foxed. With black and white illustrations throughout.
