Doctoral thesis: "Korrelation experimentell bestimmter Zustandsgrößen elektrolytischer Methanollösungen als Arbeitsmittelgemische für Absorptionswärmepumpen mit einer Fundamentalgleichung"

Dr. Heinz-Dieter Eichholz's Overview

Current: head of Corporate R&D at AWECO Appliance Systems

Past: CEO at A&K Müller GmbH, head of department electronic, acoustic and technical system development at Grohe AG, head of R&D at Electrolux Siegen GmbH

Education: Universität Dortmund / University of Dortmund

Globally experienced technical generalist with a huge portfolio of patents and a broad understanding of business administration - is interested in open innovation, business networking and consulting.

The third state of the seminar sponsored by the BMFT, DKV joint project "Reduction of emissions of CFCs in refrigeration and air conditioning systems" was held on 18 April 1991 in Bonn. Task and goal of the seminars are status reports on the progress of the individual research projects, discussion of results and future research priorities of the joint project.

At the time of the status seminar thirteen individual projects within the framework of the joint project with the spending by federal grants, the rest were funded by industry BMFT / DLR Project Management Agency. Of the two newly approved project, a research project is carried out under an industrial company and a research institute of the five new federal states active participation. The DKV collaborative project that has already implemented the required total German division of tasks into action.

In the "new plants" Two projects focus on the reintroduction of NH 3 as refrigerant for cooling the liquid. In addition to the design and construction of demonstration plants are safety tests and measures the use of NH 3 permit in commercial refrigeration, in the foreground. Other projects deal with the optimization of components for the economic use of the cold air process, the development of compression refrigeration cycle with solution and plant-specific investigations with regard to the use of the refrigerant mixture HFC 152a 23/HFKW. In a newly approved projects, the possibility of the environmentally friendly use of a sorption with zeolite / water for car air conditioning is investigated.

As part of the development of heat transfer components, measurements are carried out with partially halogenated refrigerants smooth and finned tubes or tube bundles, and the process flow and throttle the refrigerant HFC-134a and tested without the addition of refrigerating machine oil.

In the development of alternative refrigerants, the thermodynamic and heat transfer characteristics of HFC 134a and HFC 134a mixtures / HFC 152a in focus. Of particular importance are studies on the flammability and the behavior of the oil mixtures HFC 23 / HFC 152a and HFC 134a / 152a between its components.

Future research projects should be in terms of on 30.04.1991 adopted by the Federal Cabinet CFC-Halon Prohibition Ordinance on development and testing of environmentally friendly refrigerants and - focus method as a substitute for HCFC-22, in the Federal Republic from 01.01.2000 new plants may no longer be used. Therefore possible replacement refrigerant and procedures are in two initiated by BMFT and carried out under the DKV joint project studies, which do not contribute to ozone depletion and low energy consumption (greenhouse effect, reduction of CO2 emissions) have been subject to critical analysis. After presentation of the studies, DKV, the BMFT and the DLR Project Management Agency will jointly determine the conditions for future research.
