The Copperheads sought to let the Confederate states peacefully secede from the Union, and this pamphlet refutes them with testimony and opinions of many prominent Democrats loyal to the Union, including Stephen Douglas, John A. Dix, John A. Logan, Daniel Sickles.

[Albany: Weed, Parsons, 1863. 16pp, disbound, caption title [as issued]. Very Good. An attack on the Democratic Party, which "has become thoroughly Vallandighamized." The document details the patriotic activities of 'War Democrats' who have left the regular Democratic Party, which has deserted the Unionism of Andrew Jackson and Stephen A. Douglas, and joined the Republicans in their patriotic support of the war effort. Not in Sabin.
