Smaller book, red-brown cloth with beveled edges, ornate gilt illustration with title and author in gilt on front very good, orante gilt illustration on most of spine just good, covers slightly worn overall, badly worn at tips, very tiny tears with little threading to spine top and bottom edges, dark stain at center back, browned inside covers and adjacent end papers also lightly stained, 314 pages plus 6-page catalog. Pencil note on second front end paper, tissued-covered frontispiece showing European with caricature of African king. Ilustrations throughout of Africa exploration. Near Good.
