Contemporary full marbled calf, spine gilt decorated (faded) and lettered on a red morocco label (corners slightly rubbed, hingle worm but firm, top of spine damaged). ** First edition. Cabanis, "close friend of Condorcet. Taught hygiene at the École Centrales (from 1794), was assistand to Corvisart, and taught history of medicine in the Ëcole de Santé in Paris. ... His principal work in medicine, 'Coup d'oeil sur les révolutions et sur la réform de la médecine' , advocates methodically gathered tables of observations and experiments as the basis for reforms in treatment and medical instructions" (DSB).
