Bookplate of noted autograph and book collector Estelle Doheny on the front free endpaper. Carrie Estelle Doheny (1875-1958), wealthy wife of Edward L. Doheny oil magnate (was charged with conspiracy, bribery in Teapot Dome Scandal, 1924). Began collecting rare books and letters in 1931.
