Former owner name and address on paste-down. Internals clean, unmarked, no creases. Jacket with light edgewear, one cm closed tear on upper edge. Part I of the book presents the original text of the Constitution and each of the ensuing Amendments, both proposed and adopted, with background notes placing text and Amendments in historical perspective. Part II is a clause-by-clause commentary on the text and adopted Amendments, outlining modifications as political, social and economic conditions have changed, but emphasizing most receint developments through the decisions of the Supreme Cort since 1937. 286 pages. 6 x 9.3 inches.
