Duell, Sloan and Pearce, 1952. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Signed. SIGNED, without inscription, by Erskine Caldwell on the half title page. The volume is bumped on the spine ends, sunned along the top edges, and the armoral bookplate of collector, Rolland Comstock, is on the front pastedown under the jacket flap. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in mylar, is edge rubbed with chips and abrasions. There is a 3/4" closed tear on the bottom of the rear joint and the spine is light to moderately toned.
