Worn but sound collection of Victorian stories, poetry and advice about love, mainly reprinted from other sources, illustrated with engravings. Golden tan cloth lettered and extensively decorated in gilt and dark brown, about 10.75 inches tall, a hefty 560 pages. Covers rubbed with heavy fraying to corners and spine ends, hinges internally cracked and reglued in an unattractive but secure manner, text block sound, pages clean with foxing to the first and last few pages, pages otherwise clean with a gift notation from 1891 on the preliminary blank, no other markings.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
