Descriptive text includes a short history of the Los Angeles Fire Department: "In May, 1875, Engine Company No. 2 was organized."

Good condition: original red cloth binding, showing mild age toning, title on front cover, floral patterned end papers.

Many photos of early Los Angeles fire stations, with horse drawn equipment.

Portraits include: the mayor, the Fire Commissioners back to 1871, Chiefs, Captains, Lieutenants, Engine Drivers, Engineers, Hosemen, and Ladder men.

Advertisements include breweries, hardware supplies, saloons, blacksmiths, and stables among many others.

Excellent images of cowboys with a covered wagon. The images show cowboys on horse-back with a covered wagon; using poles to get the wagon up a steep trail; wagon and riders on a trail; wagon, horses and men in camp; view of a town with hills in the background and view of a farm or ranch. I was told by my seller that these images were with other images of Lakota Sioux, perhaps in Montana or Wyoming.

Lightly bumped corners else fine. Wonderful publication from the Missionary District of Wyoming, now the Episcopal Diocese, with reports from clergy and institutions of the state, including Indian territory. Profusely illustrated throughout with photographs of buildings and interiors, church members, events, etc. Missions and districts include now defunct mining towns and smaller communities including Atlantic City, Big Muddy, Grovont, and others. Photographs of note of Chief Washakie and the Washakie Mission, the Wind River Indian Reservation, Ethete, and many more. [Sheep Ranching] Western Photo Album. No publication information. [Circa 1890s?] Black album, stiff boards. 6 x 7 in. 21 black and white photos 3 x 5 in. Album pages detached at binding. Photos are glossy and there is glare in some of the images; not glued down. Very good.
Photos include sheep ranching and sheep dipping; wagons, including logging wagons; log cabin and horse with western saddle and rig; boating on a lake; carriages; horseman and barn; people in their Sunday best. Perhaps Utah, Colorado, Montana or the Pacific Northwest? Date is based on clothing, saddle and equipment.
